Driving circular solar solutions: EVERPV organises a session at Sustainable Solar EU

On 12 December, the EVERPV project organised a panel discussion with other EU funded projects, at SolarPower Europe’s Sustainable Solar Europe event, on ‘Closing the Circularity Loop: Research and Innovation Challenges for PV Recycling.’

Pietrogiovanni Cerchier, CEO of 9-Tech, presented the delamination technologies developed in the EVERPV project, and provided an overview of the project’s objectives. Claire Morin, Junior Project Officer at SolarPower Europe, moderated the session. The Retrieve, FORESi, and QUASAR projects, were presented by Rune Sondena; Cumar Luxsacumar Sivakanesar; and Alejandra Galarza.

With growing solar PV use, managing end-of-life solar panels sustainably is crucial. In particular, recycling key materials like critical raw materials can prove challenging.

9-Tech’s thermo-mechanical process recovers inorganic materials with strong yields demonstrated at their pilot lane. The EVERPV project facilitates the improvement of 9-Tech’s delamination process, and recovers more materials from end-of-life solar PV panels.

The Sustainable Solar EU event brings industry leaders, academics, policymakers, and other key stakeholders together to explore some of the most pressing sustainability topics in the solar sector.

The EVERPV team extends its thanks to all participants and attendees for an engaging and insightful event!
